The programme covers the following safety promotion activities:
For the age group
Children 0-14 years:
- Program "The classroom – safe community" (responsible – Red Cross)
- Water safety – kindergarten and elementary school pupils – swimming school
- School projects (f.e. safe ride)
- Information for parents (leaflets, local media).
 
 
"Bicycling by the river port" during
the European week of mobility - 17.9.2002. Children received instructions about safe
bicycling and using safe equipment.
The competition in the safe driving
Youth 15-24 years:
See – all age groups
Adults 25-64 years:
See – all age groups
Elderly 65+ years:
- Implementations of volunteer students help to seniors-companions. (Higher pedagogical
school, public association Spectrum)
- Senior injuries survey – enquiry. (Academy of the third age, OHS).
All age groups:
- National days without injuries – annual block of actions in the spring including
recapitulation of Safe Community project
- Healthy Days - annual block of actions at fall.
At the following environments:
Home:
- Distribution of preventive materials taken from expert partners to the target groups in
the town.
Traffic:
Environmental changes (safety features at cross-sections; lowering numbers of traffic
lines; the crossroad at Namesti miru changed to circle).
Bicycle helmets usage survey - once a year. Promotion of bicycle helmet usage.
BESIP (Road Traffic Safety Board) in Kromeriz reinforced the emphasis on injury
prevention in it's educational programs
On the 22nd of September European day without vehicles is held in Kromeriz annually with
the program of educational activities in injury prevention in traffic. (City)
The program of Bicycle lines reconstruction was started in the city to create better and
safer conditions for biking in the city.
Occupational:

School:
- Providing information about Safe Community project to directors of kindergartens and
grammar schools (periodically). (City)
- Presentation of exemplary approaches-connected to the program Health-supporting School
(City).
- Lectures for teachers-methodology for children injury prevention education (Czech Red
Cross).
Sports:
- Courses for sport organizers and trainers provided by Czech Red Cross.
- prospective plan- financial support from City budget will be given to activities with
best injury prevention facilities provided.
Leisure:
Playground safety (public playground certification, negotiations with owners,
elimination of hazardous parts of equipment, installation of information boards, dealing
with CSN EN 1176 standard, building of high quality playgrounds) (City).
Other:
The citizens have the possibility to call the municipal police whenever hazardous
situation appears. Permanent duty (24/7) registers the information and passes it to the
responsible department.

Surveillance of injuries : Special injury surveillance system was established
in every outpatient ward in our town. (OHS - regional Public Health Office).
