The programme covers the following safety promotion activities for different agegroups:

Children 0-14 years:
Campaign aimed at parents and children starting school for the first time, to ensure the childrens safety on their way to school.
Bicycle helmet promotion.

Youth 15-24 years:
Traffic information officer visits the students in the 8th-10th grade, high schools, technical colleges, supplementary schools and schools of production.

Test project for breaking and evasion manoeuvres at high speed so that young people under controlled conditions an practise handling a vehicle at high speed. Speed restriction campaigns. Campaigns against drink & driving.Red cross: a campaign for the protection of bicyclists in the traffic.

Adults 25-64 years:
Speed restriction campaigns. Campaigns against drink & driving.

Elderly 65+ years:
Information meetings and courses for elderly motorists. Initiatives to prevent fall-accidents.

At the following environments:
Home:

Prevention of fall-accidents among senior citizens.

Traffic:
Traffic information officer. Recently plans of a project to collect data collected from a hospital to discover and analyze traffical "black spots".

In 1993 a project to prevent sportsinjuries.

Recently started projet to minimalize the effects of war- traumas among refugees.

"Accidents" (non-intentional injuries) in the following injury areas:

Violence prevention:
A special "Violence-package" has been developed for eduacational use in primary schools. In the county there is a number of institutions for mentally disabled people, who often communicate physically" with violence as their only language.

To prevent too many incidents, the county has made 3-days courses for employees from these institutions.

Suicide prevention:
The county has a specialized employee to deal with different initiatives to prevent suicideattempts.

Programs aiming at "High risk-groups":
"Wuthering highs": an ambitious project, where so called "drug-rangers" were trained to make excursions at schools, highschools etc. in an attempt to let young people deliver the anti-drug message to other young people.

Surveillance of injuries:

according to one analysis from the hospital in Horsens:

Numbers pr year: approx. 50,000 of which 160 were lethal.
